The Heart of the Muse

what inspires those who inspire us?

ABOUT: Heart of the Muse

new logo_whiteEvery Heart of the Muse salon is different. It’s all about the spark of energy, and the resulting synergy, of artists putting hearts together.

Heart of the Muse began in 2011 at Books, Inc. in Alameda. Poets from all over came to read at the open mic, hosted by Amos White.

It was born again in 2015, with Kristen Caven co-producing, popping up at The Impact Hub, Frank Bette Center for the Arts, and Rhythmix Cultural Works. Each iteration featured several performers or readers, a featured artist, and free-wheeling conversation about creativity.

When salons and muses became all the rage in the SF Bay Area, the producers became immersed in other ongoing or timely events.
